Our parents have created some wonderful gifts for us so far, in addition to being incredibly supportive and helpful from many miles away. Emily's parents visited this weekend which was a godsend because we are both exhausted and sick, and Luke is coming down with our cold, so it's been a tough week.
In any case, we had been looking for a coat hanger for Luke at some of the local children's specialty shops but couldn't find anything (affordable). After coming up with nothing, we realized that we could make one--how difficult could it be? Luckily Emily's mom was with us when we came to this conclusion and she volunteered to take on the coat hanger project. She and Pete worked for a few weeks on this adorable thing and brought it down this weekend. It is SO cute...we LOVE it (for the heck of it they made a towel hanger for the bathroom, too!). Thanks Gran and Grandpa Beatty!
On a similar note, we are in dire need of storage. Our house is so incredibly small, we have no closets (typical old home!), and nowhere to store, say, toys :). When Chris's mom came to visit two weeks ago she brought us this beautiful hand painted (by her!) toy chest. Since she knows how much we love sailing, she painted International Code Flags (nautical flags) on the toy chest that spell "Monaco". This piece is absolutely beautiful and will be used by many generations of Monacos! Thank you Grandma Monaco (Mami)!
We have received incredible support from the three of you, especially considering how far away you live...thank you so very much. Luke misses you so come back soon!
