This past weekend we drove to Syracuse for a Monaco baby shower and Monaco family picnic. It was wonderful seeing the entire Monaco family...it has been a while since we've seen everyone. The shower was hosted by our cousins, Tiffany and AJ, and was wonderful. Thanks to all our aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, siblings, and grandmother for the generous gifts!!!
While we were in Syracuse, we picked up two new family heirlooms made by a close family friend. The first was a mission oak frame that was designed for three Roycroft tiles that were given to us by Ruth Ann (mom) and our friends, Aaron and Lynsay. The second was a base made from white oak for an old telephone insulator. Chris had one of these growing up and used it as a nightlight, so we found a few insulators at an antique shop, and our friend, John, made us a nautical-type base for it. Now our son will have a similar nightlight as his dad did growing up. John's craftsmanship is unbelievable...better than Stickley will ever be!
Thanks to everyone for a wonderful weekend!
