While this is not entirely baby-oriented, this is a project that we wanted to complete before the baby arrived-and it's done thanks to Chris and my dad. We had a wall that separated our kitchen from our living room that required us to walk around a corner in order to go from one room to the next. It made no sense. Everyone who visited our house agreed that the wall must come down! Since it was a load-bearing wall, it was an involved project, but not for these two tool men. Here are some before and after pics...it's amazing how this has improved the look and feel (and lighting!) of our house. The trim is not finished, yet, but notice Chris and Pete's custom wood working-it's beautiful!

The wall is gone!

Notice there doesn't look like anything is supporting the wall in the first pic where the wall is opened up. Don't worry, there is a beam in the attic holding it all together, temporarily, until we could get the real header in. I kept assuring Pete that the wall would not fall on our heads :)
